What happens if i dont have it pumped on time?
In most cases if the septic tank is used without pumping for a longer period of time than suggested maintenance intervals, solids will build up and flow out to the leach field. If the leach field receives to many solids it will plug up the porous rocks that leach the liquids away. You will start noticing sinks and tubs draining slow and toilets clogging. While we are pumping the tank, we will check the leech field for standing water and flowback. If the leach field fails it will need moved and replaced causing thousands of dollars and headache.
How does my system work?
Waste from the house flows into the septic tank. Watery waste called “effluent” fills most of the tank. Bacteria begins breaking down the organic material in the effluent. A layer of sludge falls to the bottom. Sludge is composed of non-organic solids and the by-product of bacteria digestion. Scum will float to the top. The scum layer is composed of fats, greases, and oils. Excess liquid enters the leach field. Holes in the leach piping allow the liquid to flow out into the rock and soil.
what shouldn’t i put in my septic?
Don’t flush any feminine hygiene products, paper towels, baby wipes, grease, coffee grounds, powdered detergent, or cigarette butts.
How often should i have my septic pumped?
The key to system health is to maintain a good schedule, this depends on the size of your family and normal usage.
-A family of 1-2 should pump every three years
- A family of 3-4 every two years
- Larger families should consider pumping yearly

What toilet paper brand should i use?
Stay away from brands that have high cotton fiber such as, Charmin, Kirkland, Quilted Northern.
